Our secondary school has developed very well. The school offers approximately 150 young people (2024) the opportunity to receive a very good education. And many of them are enthusiastically seizing this opportunity. On average, 85 boys and 65 girls in the various year groups are learning many new things for their future.
We are particularly proud of the high number of female pupils, as it is often the boys in a family who are chosen first when there is an opportunity to attend secondary school. Girls are far less likely to be given this opportunity. It is they in particular who take responsibility and support their families.
The school, which was recently renamed Moravian Tanja Heller School, has earned a very good reputation in the subjects of economics and science. The school has 12 classrooms, sleeping quarters for girls and boys, three laboratories, a kitchen with a dining room and an administration building at its disposal.
Our goal is for Moravian Tanja Heller School to remain a school that is attended by young people from very poor backgrounds and to be one of the best schools in Tanzania in the future.
